**** After 2 adventurous years as a 911 calltaker and dispatcher I have decided to go back to school. I still have a notebook of stories to share as well as good friends at the call center I left who keep me posted. The blog will continue as long as I have postworthy material :) Thank you to all my readers and to the officers, paramedics, fire fighters, and dispatchers who continue to serve the public in their hours of need.
A woman called because her smoke alarm was beeping. When asked what assistance she needed, she stated she wanted someone to come out and take care of it. Why you might ask? Well her explanation was, "I am Asian; I cannot reach it."

I hope you still read your comments, just found your blog and you are hilarious maybe its because I am also a dispatcher and reading it the way you tell it makes it so funny because it is the same thing everywhere. Thanks for your posts.

Though I will admit, as someone who is 4'11", that being short can make some simple things pretty irritating. I'm lucky that my guy is 6'0", or there'd be nothing in our cabinets above the first shelf!
My DH is asian (I'm not) and he had the nastiest look on his face when I told him your story. I kind of like goading him like this. :) Thanks, it looks like you have some fun things on your blog so please keep up the postings!
