**** After 2 adventurous years as a 911 calltaker and dispatcher I have decided to go back to school. I still have a notebook of stories to share as well as good friends at the call center I left who keep me posted. The blog will continue as long as I have postworthy material :) Thank you to all my readers and to the officers, paramedics, fire fighters, and dispatchers who continue to serve the public in their hours of need.
When I started dispatching one of the first suicide calls I received was from a guy that went something like this: Caller - "I came over to see my girlfriend and she's not breathing!" I instruct him to take the phone and go to where she is so we can start CPR. Then he asks - "Should I take the plastic bag off her head?"
