A grown man calls complaining that his mother is kicking him out of the house. She threw his crockpot at him and is threatening to sell his "TV and stuff."

**** After 2 adventurous years as a 911 calltaker and dispatcher I have decided to go back to school. I still have a notebook of stories to share as well as good friends at the call center I left who keep me posted. The blog will continue as long as I have postworthy material :) Thank you to all my readers and to the officers, paramedics, fire fighters, and dispatchers who continue to serve the public in their hours of need.

I want to know what self-respecting man owns a crockpot. That's worse than being grown and still living with mommy!
Twenty years ago when I worked at a small town newspaper our office was right next to the fire department. So during slow times (it was a small town so there were a lot of slow times) we'd chat with the firemen. I remember one told me "Don't ever get a crockpot. You'll burn your house down." Yikes! I've nearly burned down my house without a crockpot, I certainly didn't need any more help. Needless to say, I've never had a crockpot.
Yesterday a 19 year old girl called and said she wanted the EMS to come down and check to see if a bug got into a hole in her head and set up residence there. She had just gotten out of drug rehab. I sent the cops too. Yes she was a mental case, and no there was no bug. I didn't ask if there was a hole. I really didn't want to know.
